Article Marketing – What You Should Know
Article Marketing can be a great way to advertise online. There are articles online about everything you could imagine. I want to share some more information about this strategy. This is one of the best ways to generate free traffic to your site. When people search for something online they are looking for a specific product or service. By having your site show up on top of the search results, you are getting very targeted traffic to your site. The question is, how do you get to the top of these search engines? We will discuss some simple strategies that will help you understand more about Article Marketing and how this can help your business grow.
Article Marketing – Researching Keywords
Lets discuss how Article Marketing can help your business. The first step is finding the keyword or keyword phrase you want to write about. There are a number of keyword research tools you can use that will help you. I like to use the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. Once you have decided what you are going to write about, you can use this tool to find out what kind of traffic this keyword is getting and what kind of competition you are going to have. Try to write about something that gets 1000 or more searches a month and has very low competition. The last thing you want to do is waste your time writing about something that gets no traffic at all.
Article Marketing – Writing Articles
We have discussed Article Marketing and researching keywords. Lets talk about writing the article. If you are new to this I already know what you are saying. How do I write an article, I am not an author. I understand because I said the same thing. It really is not as difficult as you might think. The very first thing you need to do is decide what you want to write about. Pick a keyword or keyword phrase and write the article around that topic. Then just start writing like you would be talking to someone. People are looking for information and this is what you are providing. You will want your article to be about 450 to 500 words. Once you have your article complete, make sure you proofread it to check for mistakes.
Article marketing – Creating Backlinks
The reason Article Marketing will help your business is because your are going to be submitting content and building backlinks to your site. For those of you that do not know what a backlink is, it is a hyperlink that links back to your website. The more backlinks you have to your site, the higher you are going to rank in the search engines. When you create a lot of high quality backlinks, this tells Google and the other search engines that your site must be important because of all the links that are pointing back to it. You will want to try and get backlinks from sites that have a high PageRank. A PageRank of 4 or higher is good.
Article Marketing – Submitting Articles
Submitting your articles to article directories is a very important part of Article Marketing. As I said before try and submit them to the ones that have a PageRank of 4 or higher. You will want to write your article in a note pad or word document so when it is time to submit them you can just copy and paste. Some directories will time-out before you get them submitted. This will also save you a lot of time. Make sure the article title will catch a readers attention and create curiosity. Do not forget to hyperlink back to your site at least once towards the end. Most directories will let you have at least one backlink in the body of your article.
Article Marketing – The Author Resource Box
When writing and submitting articles for your Article Marketing strategies, the article directories will have what is called an Author Resource Box. This is where you let the reader know who you are and give them some information about you. Tell them what you want to tell them. Let them know what you do and always offer value. Also, in the Author Resource Box you are allowed to have another backlink. You can link back to your website or your landing page. Always try to hyperlink back to your site using the main keyword in your article. You do not want to have too many links in your Resource Box. One or two at the most. Otherwise it starts to look like spam and that is not what you want.
Article Marketing – The Conclusion
As you can see, Article Marketing can be very powerful. Once you write and submit a few articles, the process becomes a lot easier. Remember, as I said in the last post regarding this strategy, do not write the article one time and submit it to multiple directories. This is called duplicate content and Google will penalize you for that. You must, and this is important, rewrite the article to create multiple versions. You can find tools online to help with this process. This post is already to long but I think these topics are very important. I sure hope this helps you guys understand how Article Marketing can truly increase your online presence.
